FAQ's About Fees & Insurance
How Do We Pay?
All co-pays, deductibles, and private pay fees are subject to be paid in full at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
The full fee for Gottman Couples Therapy session is $250.00 for 60 minutes, and for an individual 55 minute therapy session is $175.00.
Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check or credit card (Visa, Discover, American Express and Mastercard). Regardless of your preferred payment method, we ask every client to provide a credit card on file as a contingency for late cancellations, missed appointments or use for preferred methods of payment. As a healthcare provider, we also accept payment through a Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account but still require a credit card on file as well.
Do You Contract With Insurance Companies?
We are committed to you and your family’s privacy, their confidentiality, and want you to have complete control over their health records. Submitting a mental health invoice for reimbursement carries a certain amount of risk to your confidentiality, privacy and future capacity to obtain health or life insurance. That is why we caution people to consider their risk to privacy prior to billing insurance for mental health services.
We are in-network with BCBS PPO, AETNA PPO, UNITED HEALTHCARE, UNITED MEDICAL RESOURCES, CIGNA, and TRICARE EAST insurance plans and our office bills these plans directly to the insurance. You would simply be responsible for any co-pay or unpaid services not covered by your plan.
We can, upon request, provide you with receipts and a coded visit bill (called “super bills”) which you may submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement if you choose. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider regarding the specifics of your policy.
Can I Use EAP Benefits for Counseling?
We currently contracted with Aetna, Curalinc, Workplace Solutions and Uprise Health as an EAP provider. Therefore you can use these benefits for your initial sessions. We ask you to provide an EAP authorization number with the number of sessions authorized at the time of intake. Upon completion of your EAP sessions, we will transfer the billing to your insurance provider, if we are an in-network provider.
Please note: We do not accept EAP benefits for couples sessions.
What About A Reduced Rate?
We can offer a reduced rate for those who experienced financial hardship and are not covered by insurance. Your rate will be based on family income and circumstances, and can be discussed with our Clinical Director. Please mention to our intake coordinator if you are seeking a reduced rate.

The Three "P's" To Your First Visit!
Follow these 3 easy steps and your first visit will be as smooth as silk.
P- Paperwork
Make sure you have filled out all of the required intake paperwork found in your personal client portal 24 hours prior to your first appointment time. We’ve streamlined the process so it is straightforward online.
We know paperwork is frustrating, but fill it out once and we can get to work right away.
P- Payment
If you haven’t entered your credit card as payment in the client portal, at the end of the session, we’ll ask you to pay by credit card, cash, or check. As a healthcare provider, we can also accept HealthCare Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Our practice management system uses a Secure Socket Layer encryption so your payment is secure and your data is HIPPA compliant. Once your credit card is entered, we do not have any access to the details of your card information.
P - Photo ID
We do require identification to provide counseling services, so we need a copy of the front of your DL emailed to the Intake Coordinator to upload into the secure portal link. If you are seeking couples, or family therapy, we will need the photo ID of all individuals who will be participating in the sessions.
