Where We Are

We are located at:

Deerfield, IL 60015

At Ammirati Counseling, our goal and focus is to work with our clientele, develop a strong therapeutic relationship, and not to seek ways to “fix” them or solve their problems or issues for them.

We are here to come alongside them to empower them by helping them find new ways in which they can solve their own problems for themselves. This enables them to become more in control of how they respond to what has been causing distress for them in their lives.

We also understand the power of the therapeutic relationship and are fully aware that much of what makes for an effective therapist is us, the clinician. We understand that we are the agents of change for our clients. Therefore we seek to continually strive towards personal growth to become students of our own sense of self. Without a strong sense of self – we cannot use ourselves as a valuable tool. Hence, we strive to take care of ourselves by setting healthy boundaries with our clients and for our clients and for us as well.  We seek to be life-long learners of our own emotions and needs,  so we can be the most effective as a therapeutic tool for change. We are aware of how we are feeling and responding to what the client needs; to assure that our personal “stuff” does not interfere with what the client needs from us. We seek to – metaphorically – walk alongside our clients –  carefully listening to their story, learning and understanding the world they live in. We continually strive to create a therapeutic environment where they feel safe, cared for and understood and continue to build an ongoing strong therapeutic rapport with them each and every session that we meet. We do this with our clientele by leading the process with them as we build consistency and momentum for change in our weekly sessions with them.

Clinicians at Ammirati Counseling  need to be comfortable working with individuals who are struggling with relational difficulties, family conflicts, anxiety and/or depression, trauma, grief and loss and other psychological stressors.
